From the organizer:
Under the theme “Among a thousand stars”, each performance on the festival’s closing night will be a unique constellation, with many different kinds of stars that shine brightly in their own way. Throughout the festival, we have witnessed the creation of new constellations formed by the art community and the friendship between artists. The final performance, “Solar system,” will reunite the artists of the festival on stage as they work towards the same goal of creating a new stellar project and igniting the passion for arts.
Program 1: Landscape HCMC (Live music)
Musician Loïc Guenin and 10 art students from the Conservatory of Ho Chi Minh City
Music composer: Loïc Guénin – Musician: students of Nhac Vien TP.HCM (Conservatory of Ho Chi Minh City)
Duration: 15 minutes
Theme: “Landscape TP.HCM” is an original composition by Loïc Guénin for students of the Music Conservatory. It takes the sounds of Ho Chi Minh City as a source of inspiration.
Program 2: Ru Đêm (Lullaby)
Performer: Sung A Lung
Music: Traditional Hmong jew’s harp – Sung A Suu
Choreography: Sung A Lung, collaborated with Nguyen Phuc Hung-Nguyen Phuc Hai
“The tragedy portrayed in the performance is also the tragedy of my life — it’s an endless battle that goes one every single day and night within the people who bear the burden of an unusual life. Every norm is broken, and every fulcrum for the reason to live is lost. But when it comes to aspirations, even if we face countless sufferings in response, we will never give up”, Sung A Lung talked about his project “Ru đêm” (Lullaby).
When the night falls, the uprising of hidden desires within us intensifies, craving to be ourselves, to wear a dress, put on lipstick,…. Singing a few lines aimlessly to calm ourselves down. The performance that won the National Young Choreographer Competition 2016 gold medal, “Lullaby at night,” represents the lonely struggle of the LGBT community to live as themselves and overcome the barriers and prejudices of society.”
Program 3: Melting (Dance)
Artists: Sunyoung Grace Lim, Arabesque
“Melting, chocolate, glass candy, melting glacier, snowman, my body…
Drop a tear on my cheeks.
I am a fantasy parade.
I am melting down under your skin.
You have no idea where I came from.
We have no idea where we’re going.
The world has been changing, disappearing, melting, and exchanging.
What’ll happen next?”
Program 4: QUANTUM “Điều gì đang diễn ra trong đầu của chúng ta?” (What is happening inside our minds?)
Choreographer: Chi Nguyen

“What is happening inside our minds?” This is the big question posed in QUANTUM, a work inspired by observation and research into social psychology, from random and unpredictable perspectives.
