Community Creative Activity: “Drawing on the Yard”
09 am – 11:30 am, Sun 10 Nov 2024
Hanoi Children’s Palace
36-38 Lý Thái Tổ, Ward Lý Thái Tổ, district Hoàn Kiếm, Hà Nội
From the organizer:
Hanoi Children’s Palace is one of the pioneering locations for children’s art competitions, particularly on-the-spot drawing contests. Understanding the spacious architecture of the Children’s Palace, artist Nguyen Thi Tue Thu (Din) – a Master’s graduate in hand-printed crafts from Tokyo University and Bachelor of Arts from Wako University, Japan, collaborating with Nguy Hai An and with the support of Hoa Tam Arts Center in Hanoi – a facility teaching gifted arts in Hanoi, will host a chalk drawing competition on the Palace’s yard, aims to enhance creative artistic experiences for children.
The special feature of the “Drawing on the Yard” contest is that each participating child will draw with chalk on the yard of the Children’s Palace, thereby creating conditions for children to have enough space to freely express their talents, stimulating them to experiment with new and creative artistic thinking. With the theme about dreams, “Drawing on the Yard” hopes to see the pure, passionate souls, diverse imaginations about the world of children through the art of drawing. Each dream of the children participating in the contest will appear on the yard of the Children’s Palace, connecting together like a giant image of the future, where each child is given freedom in creativity and enthusiastic belief in their own abilities. The contest creates an interesting playground for children, inspires them to dream, openly share their dreams, and is also a way for adults to understand, respect and accompany the young generation on the path to conquering those dreams.
The “Drawing on the Yard” contest is one of the activities within the framework of the Hanoi Festival of Creative Design 2024, taking place from 09 am to 11:30 am on November 10 at the Hanoi Children’s Palace. The contest is limited to 1 hour, the remaining 30 minutes are for judging and awarding prizes. The event is limited to children under 12 years old and a maximum of 40 children can participate. Festival participants can come to cheer, encourage, admire the works and build dreams with the children.
