Step into the vibrant world of Colours, Colours! – the debut solo exhibition by Severine in Saigon, which marks a turning point in her artistic journey. Severine, an artist who once entirely avoided the use of colour. For years, her drawings were monochrome, filled with pencil sketches that never once ventured into the vibrant hues we often associate with emotion and life.
Yet everything changed during a short trip to Malaga – a place where the beauty of nature, the warmth of its people, and the sheer vibrancy of the atmosphere stirred something deep within her and Severine’s artistic world was totally transformed. Inspired by the energy and emotional rawness of Basquiat’s work, she began to see the world in colour – and it quickly became a vital part of her artistic expression.
In this exhibition, Severine invites us to explore a world where vibrant colours breathe life into her visions. Her work now depicts the emotional, and the human condition through vivid hues. Whether it’s the delicate nature of flowers, the spirit of women, or the tender innocence of children, Severine paints the essence of these subjects with a joyful palette of colour that captures their soul.
