From the organizer:

In the wake of Vietnam’s victory at Điện Biên Phủ, Vietnam Pictorial emerged as a compelling visual voice, shaping North Vietnam’s vision of a socialist future. This presentation explores the ways that the illustrated magazine harnessed the power of vibrant color imagery to project ideals of progress, unity, and revolution during a time of war and upheaval — all the while navigating tensions between ideology and aesthetics, fostering global alliances, and crafting a distinct socialist visual language.
