Galaxias Doll started as a research-performance-roleplaying work by Thảo ** within the framework of the open studio event “Green Red & Yellow: Recontextualized” by APD Center in 2024. Over time, the work evolved into a distinct individual character, with a personality that is gradually, consistently shaped. Galaxias Doll is both an artistic practice and an artist with a specific identity and activities, becoming a phenomenon in transcending the boundaries of experimenting with new materials and fully embodying the character in contemporary life, which “is gradually becoming depleted of dreams of charity” (quoted from APD).

Galaxias Doll’s statement: GALAXIAS DOLL declares once and for all the ultra-cosmic 5 NO’s standards: NO eating rice NO drinking plain water NO marriage or childbearing NO engaging in romantic relationships with any male celebrity whether local or international and especially NO competing for the title in showbiz with any female celebrity even though she herself is worthy of the universe’s elite status but she humbly refers to herself as the SECOND BEAUTY to not infringe upon the title of FIRST BEAUTY in accordance with the fifth principle taught by Them about the virtues of HUMILITY alongside HONESTY and COURAGE deserving of the title of OUTSTANDING CHILD recognised throughout her childhood from the preschool level onward all of which are HONOURED not only for her EXEMPLARY WAY OF LIVING but also for her REMARKABLE ACHIEVEMENTS as a young woman of exceptional talent and perfect beauty but never a victim of fate celebrated in all BIG AND SMALL NEWSPAPERS across the country and only interacts with international friends through her ONLY INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT named GALAXIAS DOLL!!

HANOI GRAPEVINE’s FINEST is an annual event that honors contemporary art projects in Vietnam. The event is organized and nominated by Hanoi Grapevine and the general audience.

Entering its 6th year, Hanoi Grapevine’s Finest aims to go beyond an annual honouring event to become a contemporary archive of Vietnam’s art and cultural landscape, as well as a foundational platform to promote interdisciplinary collaborations both domestically and internationally, towards an open, fair, and transparent ecosystem.

This year, Hanoi Grapevine’s Finest 2024-2025 is divided into two major categories: Honouring and Recognition. Nominations are selected based on sets of criteria that aim to highlight the developmental significance and scale of impact, including activity level, community impact, creativity, organisational capability and artistic quality.
