INDIE SPIRIT – TINH THẦN PHIM ĐỘC LẬP

About project: “Indie Spirit – Tinh thần Phim độc lập” was a series of exchanges on film organised by TPD Centre for Assistance and Development of Movie Talents. Through activities such as talks, discussions, case study analysis and film screenings related to the theme of independent film spirit, “Indie Spirit” explored various approaches to independent filmmaking, acting as a platform where directors, producers and filmmakers could discuss their work and the independent film spirit that they continue to nurture and develop. “Indie Spirit” featured various guests, including film directors Síu Phạm, Hà Lệ Diễm and Phạm Ngọc Lân, actor Hoàng Hà, screenwriter-director Bùi Kim Quy, film director Gaston Stabiszewski, film producer Ania Pilch, and post-production expert Tô Quang Định.

Events organised in 2024 included a screening of “On the Endless Road” followed by a discussion with the film’s director Síu Phạm; talks and sharing sessions on prominent topics such as the journey of independent documentary filmmaking, collaboration and synergy in cinema, operating low-budget film crews, transitioning from short films to the feature debut, and the post-production process.

HANOI GRAPEVINE’s FINEST is an annual event that honors contemporary art projects in Vietnam. The event is organized and nominated by Hanoi Grapevine and the general audience.

Entering its 6th year, Hanoi Grapevine’s Finest aims to go beyond an annual honouring event to become a contemporary archive of Vietnam’s art and cultural landscape, as well as a foundational platform to promote interdisciplinary collaborations both domestically and internationally, towards an open, fair, and transparent ecosystem.

This year, Hanoi Grapevine’s Finest 2024-2025 is divided into two major categories: Honouring and Recognition. Nominations are selected based on sets of criteria that aim to highlight the developmental significance and scale of impact, including activity level, community impact, creativity, organisational capability and artistic quality.
