About project: The project “mấy mảnh vải mấy đường chỉ mấy nơi the queer w(e)aves” is organised by Queer Forever! in collaboration with Bà Bầu Air and Nhà Sàn Collective within the framework of the “Queer Ideas” programme initiated and funded by Goethe-Institut Hanoi.

Notable activities of the project in 2024 included two open studio events titled “mấy mảnh vải mấy đường chỉ mấy nơi the queer w(e)aves” featuring works by artists such as Tú Anh and Châu, Bình & Lan, Pi Ka Chuu, Tường Danh, bằng giang, Bùi Duy Thanh Mai, Hồng Nhung, Tâm Đỗ, Nguyễn Quốc Thành, Anh Khôi, Tường Danh, and Hồng Nhung; and the workshop series “Small Looms” as part of Hanoi Festival of Creative Design 2024.

In early 2025, the project returns with the workshop “gập, mở (xưởng) một vài suy ngẫm với vải, chỉ, queer và may vá”, continuing to explore different practices with common materials.

HANOI GRAPEVINE’s FINEST is an annual event that honors contemporary art projects in Vietnam. The event is organized and nominated by Hanoi Grapevine and the general audience.

Entering its 6th year, Hanoi Grapevine’s Finest aims to go beyond an annual honouring event to become a contemporary archive of Vietnam’s art and cultural landscape, as well as a foundational platform to promote interdisciplinary collaborations both domestically and internationally, towards an open, fair, and transparent ecosystem.

This year, Hanoi Grapevine’s Finest 2024-2025 is divided into two major categories: Honouring and Recognition. Nominations are selected based on sets of criteria that aim to highlight the developmental significance and scale of impact, including activity level, community impact, creativity, organisational capability and artistic quality.
