Finest Projects 2024-2025: Ngóc Ngách AR

About project: The exhibition “Ngóc Ngách AR” themed “Ký Ức Lõi” (Core Memories) was a visual display integrated wth AR (Augmented Reality) technology, aimed at exploring different perspectives on Vietnam’s local life and culture through artistic creations. The exhibition brought together over 30 Vietnamese creatives with more than 60 static and dynamic works centred around memories, filled with their emotions and personal identities. Through the display, the exhibition created an art space where the relationships between life, culture and art across all three regions of the country is vividly represented.

A workshop series titled “Exploring sustainable multimedia communication” was held alongside the exhibition, comprising professional exchanges and sharing sessions for the community of graphic designers and multimedia communicators. The workshops featured various artists and designers, including designer Huỳnh Minh Thống, multidisciplinary artist Trung Bảo, curator Anna Szylar, and designer Viola Bernacchi.

The artists participating in the exhibition included Chen Chen, Duy Nguyễn (Dsuy), Jio Han, Huy Hoàng, Cao Quốc Huy (Hkapos), Võ Tuấn Anh (Astro), Thái Linh, Hoàng Sym, Chiron Duong, Si Trần, Xuân Nguyên (Naoun), Thuyên Ngô, Lan Anh Ng, Dũng Trịnh (DDD), Monkey Minh, Nu Nguyễn, Phan Kim Thoại, Nguyễn Lý Trần Khánh, Hải Lê, Supa Nhím & Bee Cub, Linh Khưu, Duchcal, Huỳnh Minh Thống (Todd Huynh); and motion designers who collaborated with the artists to generate the dynamic versions of their works: Min Min, Quỳnh Như, Minh Ngân, Hịppo, Bảo Ngân, and Bisouu.

HANOI GRAPEVINE’s FINEST is an annual event that honors contemporary art projects in Vietnam. The event is organized and nominated by Hanoi Grapevine and the general audience.

Entering its 6th year, Hanoi Grapevine’s Finest aims to go beyond an annual honouring event to become a contemporary archive of Vietnam’s art and cultural landscape, as well as a foundational platform to promote interdisciplinary collaborations both domestically and internationally, towards an open, fair, and transparent ecosystem.

This year, Hanoi Grapevine’s Finest 2024-2025 is divided into two major categories: Honouring and Recognition. Nominations are selected based on sets of criteria that aim to highlight the developmental significance and scale of impact, including activity level, community impact, creativity, organisational capability and artistic quality.
