Finest Projects 2024-2025: Se Sẽ chứ
SE SẼ CHỨ
About project: Se Sẽ Chứ is an annual art project initiated in 2019 by director Nguyễn Hoàng Điệp and a group of art enthusiasts, aiming to preserve, commemorate and spread the poetic values of poets Xuân Quỳnh and Lưu Quang Vũ.
In collaboration with members of the SOLAR Club – a dance club for the visually impaired in Hanoi – and expanding on the theme of ‘the most important love poems in the history of Vietnamese literature’, the 2024 edition of Se Sẽ Chứ focused on the concept of “being seen”. The programme connected the visually impaired community with literature enthusiasts, creating a poetry festival without barriers and spreading the spirit of “seeing” in a unique, novel and delicate way. The project has been selected by the Goethe-Institut Hanoi to participate in the “Inclusive Arts” program.
Notable activities of the project in the past year included the performance of “Hồn Trương Ba da hàng thịt” (2024 edition); Se Sẽ Chứ Poetry Month – “Như thể ai đó mù đang ngắm trăng” (lit. As If Someone Blind Were Gazing at the Moon), Se Sẽ poetry party to welcome the New Year; the workshop “MẬT THƯ BRAILLE” (lit. Braille Secret Code); the haiku-inspired poetry contest “Thiên nhiên thi ca ta” co-organised with the Goethe-Institut; and “SỜ CHỮ NGHE THƠ” – a liberary experience, discussion and reading session.

HANOI GRAPEVINE’s FINEST is an annual event that honors contemporary art projects in Vietnam. The event is organized and nominated by Hanoi Grapevine and the general audience.
Entering its 6th year, Hanoi Grapevine’s Finest aims to go beyond an annual honouring event to become a contemporary archive of Vietnam’s art and cultural landscape, as well as a foundational platform to promote interdisciplinary collaborations both domestically and internationally, towards an open, fair, and transparent ecosystem.
This year, Hanoi Grapevine’s Finest 2024-2025 is divided into two major categories: Honouring and Recognition. Nominations are selected based on sets of criteria that aim to highlight the developmental significance and scale of impact, including activity level, community impact, creativity, organisational capability and artistic quality.
