Finest Projects 2024-2025: Viết Tiếp Ước Mơ

VIẾT TIẾP ƯỚC MƠ

About project: “Viết Tiếp Ước Mơ” (lit. Continue the Dreams) is a non-profit concert series organised by SMPA for medical fundraising for children with severe illnesses from underprivileged backgrounds in Hanoi. More than just a classical music event, the programme serves as a bridge between art and kindness, where melodies become symbols of hope and sharing.

Featuring performances by some of Vietnam’s leading classical musicians, the concerts are held annually with different themes, such as “Mùa Xuân” (Spring) (2022), “Đông Ấm” (Warm Winter) (2023), and “Bóng Bay…” (Balloons…) (2024), each carrying meaningful stories of compassion and resilience.

The concerts are typically held in formal and sacred settings, such as Cửa Bắc Church, where music resonates not only as art but also as prayers and rays of hope offered to the children.

The programme raised nearly 200 million VND between 2023-2024, which were used to cover hospital fees at the National Children’s Hospital and the Pediatrics Department of K Hospital (National Cancer Hospital). Among the many children supported, the programme helped Vàng Thanh Giang undergo surgery for a temporal arachnoid cyst in 2023, who has since fully recovered and returned to normal life; and covered the full treatment costs in 2024 for Lù Hà Uyên, who suffers from encephalitis.

HANOI GRAPEVINE’s FINEST is an annual event that honors contemporary art projects in Vietnam. The event is organized and nominated by Hanoi Grapevine and the general audience.

Entering its 6th year, Hanoi Grapevine’s Finest aims to go beyond an annual honouring event to become a contemporary archive of Vietnam’s art and cultural landscape, as well as a foundational platform to promote interdisciplinary collaborations both domestically and internationally, towards an open, fair, and transparent ecosystem.

This year, Hanoi Grapevine’s Finest 2024-2025 is divided into two major categories: Honouring and Recognition. Nominations are selected based on sets of criteria that aim to highlight the developmental significance and scale of impact, including activity level, community impact, creativity, organisational capability and artistic quality.
