Fresh-faced Organisers 2024-2025: The Cricket Project

THE CRICKET PROJECT

Founded in: 2022

The Cricket Project is a library, bookstore, workspace and event space established in 2022 in Hanoi, aimed at creating an art and cultural space for the community through events such as film screenings, poetry readings, talk shows and craft fairs.

In 2024, The Cricket Project organised a talk on Hamvas Béla’s philosophy with translator Nguyễn Hồng Nhung and Tạ Thành Tấn, M.A.; a series of open mic events with Cát Nguyên; the book and craft fair “Đi Tây Đi Tàu”; the event “Đi Vẽ” where artist Trịnh Lữ shared his creative journey and exhibited his works; the astronomy talk “Kỳ án Sao Sâm: Bốn năm sau nhìn lại” (lit. The Case of Betelgeuse: A four-year reflection); the event “The Form of Information: Hình của Thông tin” with speaker Fosco Lucarelli; the film screening and discussion of “The Seven Madmen” with translator Trần Tiễn Cao Đăng; and Zoobik T’s open studio “In The Realm of Amphibian”.

HANOI GRAPEVINE’s FINEST is an annual event that honors contemporary art projects in Vietnam. The event is organized and nominated by Hanoi Grapevine and the general audience.

Entering its 6th year, Hanoi Grapevine’s Finest aims to go beyond an annual honouring event to become a contemporary archive of Vietnam’s art and cultural landscape, as well as a foundational platform to promote interdisciplinary collaborations both domestically and internationally, towards an open, fair, and transparent ecosystem.

This year, Hanoi Grapevine’s Finest 2024-2025 is divided into two major categories: Honouring and Recognition. Nominations are selected based on sets of criteria that aim to highlight the developmental significance and scale of impact, including activity level, community impact, creativity, organisational capability and artistic quality.
