Founded in: 2014

Kinergie Studio is a dance studio founded in 2014 in Hanoi by choreographers Đỗ Hoàng Thi Ngọc and Trần Hoàng Long, with the aim of bringing contemporary dance and ballet closer to the community through courses, workshops, performances, and collaborations with both Vietnamese and international artists. Since its establishment, Kinergie Studio has created various unique contemporary dance works, actively contributing to the growth of a community that appreciates, understands and practices contemporary dance and ballet, and more broadly, the performing and contemporary arts in Vietnam.

Its notable activities in 2024 included the workshop “Chu du trong thế giới nghệ thuật – Phong cách lập thể – Khám phá dáng hình của không gian” (lit. Journeying through the world of art – Cubism – Discovering the shapes of space); the performance programme Thập Ki(n) and the workshop series “Chờ Ơi Chơi” as part of Kinergie Studio’s 10th anniversary celebrations; the workshop “Movement with Space” as part of the Hanoi Festival of Creative Design; and the inclusive contemporary dance workshops and performance series “Body to Heart” in collaboration with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Vietnam and the Goethe-Institut Hanoi.

HANOI GRAPEVINE’s FINEST is an annual event that honors contemporary art projects in Vietnam. The event is organized and nominated by Hanoi Grapevine and the general audience.

Entering its 6th year, Hanoi Grapevine’s Finest aims to go beyond an annual honouring event to become a contemporary archive of Vietnam’s art and cultural landscape, as well as a foundational platform to promote interdisciplinary collaborations both domestically and internationally, towards an open, fair, and transparent ecosystem.

This year, Hanoi Grapevine’s Finest 2024-2025 is divided into two major categories: Honouring and Recognition. Nominations are selected based on sets of criteria that aim to highlight the developmental significance and scale of impact, including activity level, community impact, creativity, organisational capability and artistic quality.
