Think Playgrounds is a social enterprise and design organisation founded in 2014 in Hanoi with the mission to promote children’s right to play. By collaborating with multidisciplinary partners, local authorities and communities, Think Playgrounds build environmentally friendly playgrounds and sustainable public spaces.

Think Playgrounds believes that quality public spaces, co-created with communities, are fundamental to achieving social equity, elevating quality of life and connections among urban communities, and supporting healthy childhood development for children living in Vietnamese cities.

In 2024, Think Playgrounds has completed over 270 public spaces and playgrounds across Vietnam, including more than 20 inclusive playgrounds for people with disabilities. Three of these, located along Hanoi’s Red River Bank and Hoi An’s Cua Dai Coast, were designed as forest parks, aiming to support natural regeneration and raise awareness of native ecosystems.

Its notable activities in 2024 also included co-organising the project “Community Garden: Turning Waste into Art”, which featured a series of workshops, art tours and artist talks; participating in UNICEF’s Play Day for Children at the Temple of Literature; attending a Sustainable Urban Mobility Workshop focusing on Southeast Asia in the Philippines; designing the “Điềm Phùng Thị – Inspired Playground” and joining the conference and talk on “Designing Inclusive Public Spaces” as part of Hanoi Festival of Creative Design 2024; as well as taking part in multiple seminars and discussions on public spaces and sustainable ecosystems hosted by various organisations in Hanoi.

Think Playgrounds has received several sustainability awards, including EXO Foundation Sustainability Awards 2024, the Asia Pacific Social Innovation Partnership Awards 2021, BBC 100 Women 2020, Ashui Awards 2019, The Art of Recycle Awards 2019.

HANOI GRAPEVINE’s FINEST is an annual event that honors contemporary art projects in Vietnam. The event is organized and nominated by Hanoi Grapevine and the general audience.

Entering its 6th year, Hanoi Grapevine’s Finest aims to go beyond an annual honouring event to become a contemporary archive of Vietnam’s art and cultural landscape, as well as a foundational platform to promote interdisciplinary collaborations both domestically and internationally, towards an open, fair, and transparent ecosystem.

This year, Hanoi Grapevine’s Finest 2024-2025 is divided into two major categories: Honouring and Recognition. Nominations are selected based on sets of criteria that aim to highlight the developmental significance and scale of impact, including activity level, community impact, creativity, organisational capability and artistic quality.
