Ahead of our new showcase The Speaking Place, we are delighted to announce a special Art Tour session led by curator Sofia Thiệu D’Amico.
The Speaking Place is a group display featuring artists Ưu Đàm Trần Nguyễn, Hương Ngô, Jacqueline Hoàng Nguyễn, Trương Tân, Danh Võ and Phạm Ngọc Dương. Spanning across subject matters and mediums, localities and temporalities, at the focal point of this diverse body of works lies a shared preoccupation with language—Vietnamese in particular—and the multivectoral potentialities it holds, to both construct and to disrupt, reveal and efface.
About facilitator: Sofia Thiệu D’Amico is a researcher and writer based in New York. She currently serves as co-director of the Brooklyn-based artist-run space Transmitter, and recently worked as assistant curator of Canal Projects, a nonprofit exhibition space dedicated to supporting emerging contemporary art practices.
