From Manzi:
Introducing the breathtakingly beautiful music of Spiral Trio. Consisting of David Kuckhermann, Heiko Dijker and Lenneke van Staalen, the trio met in Holland to sophisticate their musicality and study with the greatest masters of percussion and melody.
In the concerts of the Spiral Trio the most magical melody and rhythm join hands on Violin, Hang and Tabla. These soulful virtuosos present both modernity and tradition intricately fused together in a mesmerising show.
The Hang is a very new instrument, invented in Switzerland only in 2000. The word “Hang” means “hand” in Berndeutsch. The Tabla is the ancient and most sophisticated percussion instrument from India. Playing involves extensive use of the fingers and palms in various configurations to create a wide variety of different sounds. Last but not least, the lyrical melodies of the Indian Violin bring a spirited depth to the intricate rhythms of the Hang and the Tabla.
The second part of the performance includes a jam session with contemporary Jazz musicians from Hanoi.
Tickets: VND 200,000. To book tickets, please contact [email protected].
UPDATE: The ticket price for the jazz concert by SPIRAL TRIO & Hanoian contemporary Jazz musicians is 200,000VND. The concert is non-profit; part of the ticket money will go into renting and transporting musical equipments, the rest will be given to local musicians. Thank-you!
