A universal form of musical activity, lullaby singing is shared and appreciated among all cultures. It is said that within each melody and lyric of a lullaby one can find the original traits of a people. As part of Manzi’s “Old sounds of New days” concert series, “Encounter two: Lullaby” will introduce some of Vietnam’s most enduring lullabies through various genres of ancient and traditional local chamber music such as Ca trù, Chèo, Chầu văn and Xẩm.

“Old Sounds of New Days” is a series of music concerts hosted by manzi as an effort to support and tell an authentic narrative about the different ancient and traditional musical genres in Vietnam.
