From the organizer:
This screening is within this year program themed on “Architecture and Sustainable Development” by Architecture Movies Club.
As we have already known, about 50% of the world’s population live in cities nowadays. This number will reach 70% by 2050. Providing enough food for everyone is becoming a problem of urban administration now and in the future.
Up until now the sources of food have come from rural areas. With migration and non-stop urban expansion, will we be able to produce food right in the city? “Les fermes verticales” (translation: The vertical farms), a chapter in the film “Les Villes de demain” (translation: The cities of tomorrow) by director Frédéric Castaignède will give us a new perspective of a city of the future. It’s no longer a sci-fi thing but the farms can actually be cultivated on rooftops, even towers, from which food can be produced without soil or natural light. In the film, we will see many farming ideas and structures that have succeeded in different cities all over the world.
The film will be screened with Vietnamese subtitles.
Free entry.
At Ca phe thu bay Hanoi & HCMC, please pay for your drink (if you order).
