Theater for Children
Fri 02 Oct, 8.30 am
Youth Theater
Youth Theater presents this talk as part of the “Children’s Voice” project, supported by The Swedish Centre of the International Theatre Institute (ITI) and The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).
The project has been running since 2004, and originally encompassed long-term cooperation with theatres in India and Bangladesh but was expanded in 2007 to include a further project area of Vietnam, Laos and China up to the end of 2009.
Work in the project focuses on development of an artistic theatre for children and youth, the ability of children and youth to work with creative forms of expression via drama at school and active efforts to reach vulnerable groups in society. Children’s Voice is a regional project where cooperation locally within countries and regionally between countries is boosted through exchanges and networking. It has been cooperating with the Youth Theater in Hanoi since 2007. Together they have hosted workshops and done hundreds of performances and plays for children around the country.
