You are invited to a traditional chèo theatre show to say farewell to Year of the Monkey and welcome Year of the Rooster.
Chèo is a form of generally satirical musical theatre, often encompassing dance, traditionally performed by Vietnamese peasants in northern Vietnam. [wikipedia]
There will be 4 popular chèo pieces performed at the show:
• “Dẹp đám vỡ nước”
• “Thị Màu lên chùa” (Lệ Thu – Thị Màu, Trang Nhung – Thị Kính)
• “Tuần Ty – Đào Huế” (Kim Liên – Đào Huế, Mạnh Huấn – Tuần Ty, Lệ Thu – Thiệt Thê)
• “Ba giá hầu đồng” (Ngọc Bích – Thanh đồng, Thành Lê – Cung văn)
