From the organizer:
“When you drink water, think of its source
When eating a fruit, think of the person who planted the tree.” (Vietnamese proverb)
Filial piety has long been ingrained in the minds of Vietnamese people . It is perpetuated through folk songs, stanzas, idioms and proverbs, and manifested in the lifestyle and habits of the Vietnamese.
A talk show, titled “The Ancestor Altar – Where Filial Piety Begins”, will take place at the Kim Ngan Communal at 2 pm on Tuesday, 24 April 2018 during the Hung King Festival in Vietnam. It is an opportunity for all of us to sit back and re-discover filial piety – one of the core values of the Vietnamese culture.
