“A great banquet is a perfect selection of tastes”, said Meritorious Artist Tran Ly Ly when talking about ‘Around the World’ concert taking place on 26 & 27 Mar 2019. Let’s see what Vietnam National Opera & Ballet (VNOB) brought to the table!

This is the first event in a series of activities celebrating the 60th anniversary of Vietnam National Opera and Ballet (VNOB). All the three troupes had prepared their best ‘dishes’ to bring to the banquet of the big family: opera from the singing troupe, ballet from the dance troupe and symphonies from the orchestra.

Music banquet tended to every guest visually and musically. In addition to stage design, they also very invested in the costumes The female musicians wore cream-colored dresses while their male counterparts wore black suits. The choir ladies wore vibrant and glamorous red dresses that looked like roses.

In only 80 minutes, every guest at the party of the VNOB family got to travel through space in time with music. A combination of tradition and modernity, of the East and the West. Moderate and harmonious, abundant yet not at all a mish-mash.

Vietnam National Opera and Ballet entertained the public with a full-fledged concert of many different cultural colors. A bold move breaking through traditional ways of performing. At the same time, this is also an incredible effort to bring “high” art closer to the general public.
