The proud alma mater of Vietnamese fine arts marks its 100th anniversary.

A century that has shaped the form and spirit of Vietnamese art, journeying through the nation’s modern history.

This school has nurtured generations of artists whose names have become part of the history of modern Vietnamese fine arts. A century’s worth of “golden dust” – the legacy that gently veils this legendary institution.

In celebration of this milestone, Hanoi Studio Gallery, together with artists in painting and sculpture, presents a special collection – a tribute to the school and a continuation of its endless stories of school days, teachers, and friendships.

Here, one can glimpse the tentative first steps of those preparing for art school, as well as the excitement of early successes of young artists nurtured at the cradle of Vietnamese fine arts – 42 Yet Kieu Street.

Their growth and achievements form small yet distinctive marks of an era within the hundred – year journey of the school.

This exhibition is a heartfelt tribute to a century – old institution that continues to inspire and shape the artistic landscape of Vietnam.

Hundred Years Go On

Throughout nearly thirty years of its own journey, Hanoi Studio Gallery has closely accompanied and collaborated with generations of painters and sculptors who emerged from the Vietnam University of Fine Arts – formerly the École des Beaux-Arts de l’Indochine, located at 42 Yet Kieu Street.

The participating artists of “The Collection – Hundred Years Go On” pay tribute to their beloved school.
Their works embody diverse perspectives, creative individuality, and introspective reflections of the times in which they live – the quiet pride and inner light of artistic creation.
Through the flow of time, their expressions extend and enrich the century – long narrative of Vietnamese fine arts.
