Things of Substance, together with Contraband, are set to launch their summer 2008 collections with a multi media fashion soiree at Hanoi Cinematheque on Saturday May 24.

On Duty/Off Duty
The ‘On Duty/Off Duty’ themed event is a move away from the previous catwalk extravaganzas of Australian designer Simmone Fairhead (creative director of Prieure Vietnam). She explained:
�We are moving away from the traditional catwalk to showcase our fashion in a real life setting. We are again using real customers as models to emphasize that our clothing is for women of all shapes and sizes but this year, we are photographing them going about their daily lives� .
These still shots will be sequenced and featured in a short film which will screen during the fashion soiree on May 24.
Opening at 6.30pm
Screenings at 7, 7.30 and 8.30pm

Hanoi’s unique ‘art-house cinema’, is a members-only film society. Memberships are available at the box office for only 100,000VND per year. Members receive regular emails with detailed schedules and reviews of the films. Tickets to the films are by donation.
