From the organizer:
“Yet Heaven and Earth and all that lies between is like a bellows
In that it is empty, but gives a supply that never fails.
Work it, and more comes out.”
(Chapter 5, Tao Te Ching. Translated by Arthur Waley)
We’re delighted to invite you to the opening reception of Đặng Duy Minh’s open studio on Friday, October 9th. The open studio introduces Ống Bễ (Bellows), an installation unfolds in darkness, gradually, attuned to a state of groping: slow, cautious, open, attentive. A scene of bizarre objects, of open questions.
“They are reticent in their stance. Fragile forms gently reach upward, carrying discarded objects that have washed ashore from who knows where.” – Excerpt from the curatorial note by Nguyễn Minh Ngọc
Ống Bễ (Bellows) marks the culmination of a three-month residency by Duy Minh in collaboration with AirHue, during which we observed, researched, collected materials, and experimented. This residency was supported by our strategic partner Goethe-Institut Hanoi, running from July 15 to October 15, 2026, and dedicated to Vietnamese artists, curators, researchers, and cultural practitioners currently living and working from Huế northward, regardless of origin or medium.
About artist
Minh Đặng holds a BA in Glass and Ceramics from the University of Sunderland, UK. Minh works with glass as a medium to transform fixed forms back into realms of ambiguity. He embraces presence via contrasts, between empty and full, soft and hard, ripe and aged, high and low. During his three-month residency in Huế, Minh created a space to confront no-longer-belonging objects
About AirHue
