From the organizer:

Nguyễn Art Foundation (NAF) warmly invites audiences to join the children’s workshop ‘Memory Map: An Exercise in Remembering and Mapmaking’, led by Bach Tung.

What makes a story: what we see, or what is no longer there?

Taking place as part of the exhibition ‘Mạch Ngầm [counter-place]’, the workshop offers an exploration of landscape, absence and presence, and the things that are no longer there. Beginning with a tour of the exhibition, participants will be invited to closely observe the artworks and reflect on what is absent from each landscape: a place, a person, a sound, a feeling, or a story.

Through experiments with colour and materials, each participant will then create fragments drawn from their own memories and arrange them into a “memory map” – a landscape made up of places that are remembered and imagined.
‘Mạch Ngầm [counter-place]’ is the first thesis presented as part of ‘Within & Beyond: a Taxonomy in Exhibition-making’ – a year-long educational and curatorial initiative launched by Vicky Do.

Age range: Children from 08 to 14 years old
Language: Vietnamese
