The creative expression session features a series of performances comprising four works. This event is part of Track 03 – Living Laboratories of VFCD.
1/ “Conversation: Exploring Composer – Performer Co-Creation Through an NLP-Driven Interactive Performance System”: This is a space to express the story of a composer and a performer who have a personal connection and share familiarity. Powered by piano, electronic sound, Python 3, Vosk speech recognition, NLP, and Max/MSP, each stage interaction dynamically triggers real-time audio – unfolding an unscripted, co-creative performance.
2/ “Opening”/MỞ: Without fixed scripts, *MỞ* reimagines Ho Chi Minh City as a living, breathing body. Grounded in Mettler’s Creative Dance method (Space – Time – Force), participants become our co-researchers – using movements, collective rhythm and everyday objects to reconnect with urban architecture and unpack tranquility.
3/ “Dance No. 3”: An interdisciplinary work merging traditional dance and sound, featuring artist Hery Kristian Buana Tanjung and dancer Valentina Ambarwati, whose practice is rooted in Javanese classical dance and folk traditions such as Jathilan (Kuda Lumping). The performance explores the dialogue between embodied heritage and contemporary perception.
4/ “Alba”: Alba is the Provençal name for a poem sung at dawn, when lovers must part. This performance uses boyfriend” shirt as an intimate symbol. As we step inside a collective garment to read poems to one another, materials and text transform into a ritual of connection inviting audiences into a quiet space of subtle closeness.
