From the organizer:

What if creativity didn’t require hours of uninterrupted time?

As a part of VFCD’s track 03, Living Threads – Fragmented Scrolls is a Living Laboratory Workshop that reimagines stitching as a quiet, reflective practice woven into the rhythms of everyday life. Inspired by the tradition of Vietnamese calligraphic scrolls, participants will create evolving textile scrolls that become personal records of memory, place, and self.

Rather than completing a finished artwork in one sitting, you’ll build your scroll through small moments of making whether you have ten minutes or two hours. Using simple stitches, limited colour palettes, and accessible materials, the workshop embraces slow, imperfect, and evolving creative practice.

Led by Corinna Joyce – textile practitioner, craft artist, and practice-based PhD Candidate at RMIT University – this hands-on workshop explores how needlecraft can support reflection, connection, and care in the fragmented pace of urban life.

Whether you’re an experienced maker or have never picked up a needle before, you’re invited to slow down, stitch together, and discover how small acts of making can become lasting threads of memory.
