From the organizer:

Ném is a Ho Chi Minh-based design studio built on a practice rooted in upcycled objects, exploring how design can reshape the relationship between people and the things that surround them, with an approach grounded in practicality, simplicity, and a willingness to challenge conventional ways of seeing and making.

Join designer and artist Duong Gia Hieu, founder of Ném, as he explores two of his key projects: Street Objects, an ongoing body of work that transforms discarded, street-sourced materials into furniture and everyday objects with new life. The New Comfort Shanghai, a project and workshop extended Ném’s material philosophy to a new city and context.

Through these projects, participants will. discover how Nem redefines value and preservation. By experimenting with forgotten materials, the studio opens up new realms of possibilities – with each piece reflecting the harmony between material, craftsmanship and modern lives.

Vietnam Festival of Creativity & Design 2026 is organised by RMIT University Vietnam in collaboration with a diverse array of individuals, groups, organisations, enterprises in the creative industries.
