The 2010 Kuandu Biennale Memories and Beyond invites artists and curators from different regions of Asia to explore the ideas across disciplines and media. This year, Nguyen Trinh Thi and Nguyen Minh Phuoc will honourly represent Vietnam in Taipei.

The Biennale  invites known scholars and curators to form a committee, who subsequently recommended 9 artists (groups) from various regions of Asia. The artists then found their own curators and critics to work together, creating site – specific art works at the Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts. With different strategies and ideas of each group of artists and curator, the exhibition wishes to create a more direct and thorough experience of communication between cultures and to bring the audiencce’s attention to refocus on the creator and art work. The Biennale wishes through the hands and eyes of artists to display a more thorough and diverse level of memory and the related text developed from the creation of art works.

Memory is an inner world of past, present and future images, involving psychological and mental reflection of event. It often inspires artists in many ways. Nguyen Trinh Thi and Nguyen Minh Phuoc are Vietnamese artists participating in the event.
