For 8 years, Grapevine has been posting up-to-date information about the arts and culture scene in Vietnam. We hope that you, our readers, find our service valuable and helpful.

Now for the first time, you can offer significant support to us with a financial contribution to help keep us up and running.

Our 2-week campaign starts today and ends on December 07.

Why do we need to raise funds now?

Grapevine has always been free for our readers.

We cover our expenses by selling carefully selected advertising. This is our sole source of revenue and it just barely manages to cover our costs, because our dedicated team works for salaries that are simply too low. But advertising revenue is not growing as fast as our expenses, or our traffic. In order to keep going, and to keep growing, we need your help!

• We need to grow, but we can’t afford it!
• We need to pay our team competitive salaries, but we can’t afford to.
• We need more full-time staff, but we can’t afford them.
• We need writers and photographers, but we can’t afford them.
• We need decent office space, but we can’t afford it.
• There are many ways in which we could expand and improve the site and the services we offer, but all of them need people, and people need money.

Last year, it cost us nearly VND 500 million to operate Grapevine with a minimum of staff and services. This averages out to about VND 40 million per month.

So we have set the goal of raising at least VND 40 million – the minimum we need to cover 1 month of operating expenses for Grapevine.
