Documentary about Love Market in Vietnam Made Public

Premiere Screening Vibrant Highland, Commercial Love
Two years after he completed it in the northern province of Ha Giang, Vietnam, Polish-American director Matt Dworzańczyk has decided to make the documentary “Vibrant Highland, Commercial Love” accessible to a wider audience and uploaded it to YouTube recently.

Far up in Vietnam’s remote mountains, once a year, a secretive Love Market is held. Delving beyond the ambiguous myths, this unique, independently produced adventure documentary discovers a reality much more fascinating, even if painful, than the legends told.

“It’s a story of wild & exotic love. It’s a story of tribal kings and opium trade. It’s a story of kidnapping and loss. It’s a story of sexual discovery, of spirits and magic. It’s a story of government propaganda vs. the fascinating yet harrowing reality of the people.”

The film had its world premiere at The World’s Independent Film Festival in San Francisco, USA, where it was recognized as BEST DOCUMENTARY FEATURE. It has also been screened in Berlin, Germany. See the film crew’s official website and Facebook page for more information.

Another film by Matt Dworzańczyk, “The Land of Whispers”, made in North Korea, also attracts a large number of viewers, with 2.5 million views so far on Youtube since published in 2013.
