Exhibition: 13 Sep – 31 Oct 2019, 9 am – 8 pm (longer opening hours on event nights at L’Espace)
24 Trang Tien Str, Hanoi

From L’Espace:

You are invited to the installation exhibition “Streets vendors and street cries of Hanoi”
– Street cries sound: Dam Quang Minh and Dong Kinh Co Nhac artists
– Set design: Duy Phuong

The exhibition presents a collection of sketches, drawings and watercolor paintings created by fifteen students from Indochina College of Fine Arts (now Vietnam University of Fine Arts) and their teacher – Ferdinand de Fénis. They skillfully sketched the small world of street vendors who criss-crossed the streets of the capital city, beginning their day from dawn, with a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, sweets and dishes to offer.

Photographs from the same time period from the collection of EFEO (École française d’Extrême-Orient) will also be highlighted with an interactive installation work. The daily life of the Hanoi people will be revealed through the combination of light boxes, projections and installations…. The streets cries of the vendors surely will awaken certain memory in your mind..

A beautiful combination of old-fashioned photos, sound effects and graceful drawings that fill the air with nostalgia.

Free entry.
