Solo Exhibition by Bang Nhat Linh

The installation exhibition expresses the image of Hanoi in the modern time from a young artist’s point of view.

Hanoi has become too much different since he was a small child… “New roads, new houses, more vehicles. The city is gradually growing, but is it more beautiful than the city I used to know when I was a little child?… My works simply show the feelings I have when thinking of my beloved city… A vague feeling inside me that misses the “old” Hanoi…”

Audience will have the chance to contribute to one of his installation. The installation is named “Hanoi” and created from 100 small clay Tortoise Towers. Audience can paint the towers with every colour they like and put them back into correct positions. Bang Nhat Linh said about the idea behind this artwork: “Each of us builds a small part of Hanoi… But what are we doing and will be doing? Shall many beautiful houses standing together make a whole beautiful scene?… I’m not yet sure about the result of this installation work.”
