Installation Exhibition “Nomadism in the City”

You are invited to the opening of  “Nomadism in the City”, an exhibition about the life of people living in floating boats in Bai Giua, Long Bien (Ngoc Thuy, Long Bien Dist) and fishing village Phuc Xa (Phuc Xa, Ba Dinh Dist) of Nguyen Hong Phuong – curator Vu Lam.

Content:
– The main part of exhibition is a floating tent (2.7m x 3.7m x 2,5m) displayed at the center. Four surrounding edges of the tent are wood dais with the thickness of 40 cm, the surface sticking to a large mirror with an area of 40 square meters, that creates an illusion of drifting state of tent in water surface…
– Outside is 5 sofas placed in 4 directions so that visitors can sit and look at the tent.
–  On the string, there are 126 pictures (30 x 40cm) depicting daily life of people living in floating tent.
–  Documented pictures and the tent’s movement process are selected as central factors of installation work.
