Casting Vietnamese Actress for a Hollywood Film with Matt Damon

A Paramount Pictures film, DOWNSIZING, directed by Alexander Payne and starring Matt Damon, Reese Witherspoon and Alec Baldwin is looking to cast the role of a Vietnamese character, Ngoc Lan Tran, Matt Damon’s love interest.

Character Description:

30-50 Female, Vietnamese
Fierce and emotional, Ngoc Lan is a woman determined to do the right thing and speak the truth no matter whom she might offend. A one-legged former prisoner who travels to the United States, Ngoc Lan continues her mission to help the poor and finds love in the process. Needs to be able to speak Vietnamese as well as English with a Vietnamese accent.

Etherium Sky is a film/TV production company by former Hanoi-based director Matt Dworzanczyk, who had introduced the successful documentary films of “DPRK: The Land Of Whispers” (about North Korea) and “Vibrant Highland, Commercial Love” (about Ha Giang). Etherium Sky is assisting in the Vietnamese casting process and may take part in the production next year.
