From the organizer:
“Cụng, Đụng, Chạm” is the artist residency and co-authoring program with the communities from the activist group “The Pioneers for the voice of Ethnic Minorities”. During the residency lasted for 30 days of May 2017, four artist groups from Hanoi have spent time living, working and co-authoring works in four Tien Phong communities in Lao Cai, Yen Bai, and Dak Nong. More information about the program can be found here.
In order to mark this result of this first touch/chạm, the co-authoring groups would like to invite you to a final exhibition at The Hanoi Old Quarter Culture Exchange Center – 50 Đào Duy Từ street, Hoàn Kiếm district, Hà Nội. After this group exhibition, the works will be given back to the ethnic minority communities who co-authored them.
Information about the group “The Pioneers for the voice of Ethnic Minorities” (or “Pioneers”):

The Pioneers aware of their ethnic identity, and believe it is best to let insiders solve their own issues. The group chose to speak up to boost the mutual understanding between different cultures, between the minority and the majority. Members of the groups are looking forward to learn new methods of expression to let their voice be heard better, clearer, and in more diverse ways. The group is renowned for its annual event about Ethnic Minorities’ culture: “I believe I can” held in Hanoi, Lao Cai, and Dak Nong from 2015.
