From Nha San Collective:

Nha San Collective would like to invite you to the event OPEN STUDIO: OFF SPACES

OPEN STUDIO: OFF SPACES

Off Spaces is a collaborative visual art project between Nguyễn Quốc Thành and Lukas Zerbst, curated by Bùi Kim Đĩnh that has been being deployed since February 2017. Interested in spaces, myths and legends, the city has opened to Thành new places with different dimensions of time and spaces that seem to be off those places. Meanwhile, Zerbst aims to work about the relationship between body and space: accessibility against inaccessibility, inside and outside of a space, as well as space as legal vacuum.

In seven days, the open studio of Off Spaces will reveal two site-specific installations of Zerbst and the exploring and visualizing process of Quốc Thành. During this time, all public opinions and critics will be welcomed. A group discussion will be carried out on the sixth day.

ARTISTS:

— Nguyễn Quốc Thành from Hà Nội, Việt Nam, artist of photography, installation and performance, co-founding member of Nhà Sàn Collective and founder of Queer Forever!
— Lukas Zerbst from Bremen, Germany, artist of site-specific installtions, performance, theater and multimedia.

CURATOR:
— Bùi Kim Đĩnh, based in Hà Nội – Berlin, project curator and doctoral researcher in anthropology of art in Göttingen.

Nhà Sàn COLLECTIVE is not a museum, a gallery or an international culture institute where completed work are presented by established artists. Just like Nhà Sàn Studio before, it is a working studio to nurture where artists can create, collaborate, be given advice, critiques, and have chances to meet with international artists, curators. Works that are presented at open studio every month could be finished or not, but the process of developing idea and working to improve the quality of the art work for local artists is what Nhà Sàn COLLECTIVE focuses on.

If you are interested and curious about experimental art, and want to have conversation with the working artists, please visit
