From the organizers:

Approximately 80 thangka paintings – created with the traditional process, strict handicraft principles combined with rigorously trained talent – will be exhibited at this event.

This is the third time Himalayas Vietnam organizes an event to exhibit and introduce thangka art in Hanoi and HCMC. Aiming to give art enthusiasts a chance to get to know the art of enlightenment in Tibetan Buddhism, we have invited to Vietnam some of the most talented thangka artists.

Shrestha Bibek is known as a leading artist at Images of Enlightenment – one of the most prestigious art schools in Nepal, where large thangka paintings in Nepali and Tibetan monasteries are made.

In the framework of the events, the artists will not only introduce to audiences the artistic and religious values of thangka art but also perform live thangka painting with traditional materials from Nepal.

Enjoy live paintings by the artists:
– 10-12h and 14-16h on 2 Jun 2018 in Hanoi
– 10-12h and 14-16h on 9 Jun 2018 in HCMC

Follow updates on the event page.
