From the organizer:

The ninth iteration of our annual gallery anniversary group exhibition of Vietnamese artists will open at the gallery on 29 June from 6-9pm.

Each year in June, the gallery likes to take the opportunity to mark another year of the life of the gallery and put on an eclectic exhibition that showcases new works by the many artists that will be having solo exhibitions at the gallery in the ensuing twelve months. It is also a chance to say thank you to all of you who have supported the gallery during the last year. This year’s anniversary show will be particularly special as it will include two exciting young artists who are new to the gallery and who will be joining us for our upcoming group exhibition of sixteen Vietnamese artists in New York City in September of this year.

Among the artists whose work will be showing at the gallery during the show as sneak previews of their upcoming solos are long-time gallery favorites like Lương Lưu Biên, Phạm Huy Thông, Liêu Nguyễn, and Nguyễn Minh Nam. In addition, Hue-based artist Trương Thế Linh, who will be having his first curated gallery show at the gallery in December, will show one of the works of the collection that he has spent the past year creating.

As always, there will be a couple of surprises at the show including the latest master work from the acclaimed Saigon-based artist Lim Khim Ka Ty with whom we have been working since shortly after her graduation from art school in 2004. Ka Ty spends months perfecting her works and it is always a moment of great excitement when we are able to show one of her exquisite paintings.

We are also excited to welcome to the gallery’s walls works by the highly regarded, Hanoi-based artist Nguyễn Trọng Minh. Minh is making a new work exclusively for the anniversary show and this will be the first time his work has been on public display in Saigon. The addition of Minh to the gallery’s roster of artists is a continuation of our efforts to have the gallery represent a full range of artists working in Vietnam’s three primary art centers of Hanoi, Hue and Saigon.
