You are invited to a screening of the documentary film “The story of kindness” by director Tran Van Thuy & meet the director on the film night.
“The idea of “kindness” or “tu te” in Vietnamese, has its origin in two old Chinese-Vietnamese words. “Tu” means the smallest element. “Te” is the subtlest matter. These two words combined mean that we have to pay attention to the smallest details.”
But what else does “kindness” mean?
Made by director Tran Van Thuy who is considered an acclaimed Vietnamese documentary director, the documentary tells stories of human life & fate which is still critical until these days.
The documentary has won Silver Dove award in Leipzig International Film Festival after its release in 1985 and the foreign press called it “the bomb from Vietnam exploded in the city of Leipzig”.
The film is 50-minute long with English subtitles.
