Open Studio: “Photogenèse” – Isabelle Le Minh
04:30 pm – 06:30 pm, Fri 13 Sep 2024
Kyara Art House
234 Trần Nhân Tông, Cẩm Châu, Hội An
From the organizer:
As part of the French Institute of Vietnam’s Villa Saigon “Hors-les-Murs” program, visual artist Isabelle Le Minh has been hosted by Kyara Art House for an artist residency.
She will present her work and the research she has been carrying out in Hoi An over the past two months. Drawing on her knowledge of primitive photographic processes, she has studied the light sensitivity of plants in her immediate environment and of vegetable dyes, trying to devise a non-polluting pigment printing process within wider investigations.
About Isabelle Le Minh
A graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie in Arles, Isabelle Le Minh is a visual artist based in Nogent-sur-Marne who teaches photography at the Haute école des arts du Rhin in Strasbourg. Her work can be found in major public collections such as those of the Centre Pompidou – Musée National d’Art Moderne, the Centre National des Arts Plastiques and the Bibliothèque Nationale de France.
Through her versatile practice, the artist follows multiple exploratory paths to seek the essence and push the limits of photography, evoking its history, techniques and theories, as well as the notion of originality in a world dominated by images.
