From Vietnam Festival of Creativity & Design:

Organised as part of Vietnam Creative & Design Festival 2024, the showcase “Re:generation” aims to awaken actions with power of regeneration and art. Drawing from the Festival’s theme of “Re:generation”, creative processes becomes a key instrument to practise and revitalise three core aspects: community & space, culture & heritage, and particularly, the environment.

The displays at “Re:generation” not only document the current crises but also propose solutions that inspire resilience and hope.

The project “Nature’s Rewilding Vietnam” by WWF, with its powerful images of ecosystem restoration, aims to raise community awareness about environmental protection. The “GenZ Dệt ZènG” project digitises the traditional Tà Ôi brocade patterns as a way to sustain the life of zèng weaving, while “Đà Lạt – City of Arts” uses map illustrations and tell the stories of sustainable tourism to preserve, celebrate, and bring the city’s unique heritage to life.

The projects by Lướt Code and Việt Kia offer two different approaches to “revitalisation”: Lướt Code’s “The Vietnamese Project” celebrates and preserves the beauty of the Vietnamese language, while Việt Kia’s “Chạn” (Cabinet) & “Chõng” (Daybed) creatively reimagines tangible heritage values from the past.

The showcase “Re:generation” ultimately serves as a testament to the transformative potential of creativity. The diverse projects showcased here inspire and remind us that we can rise to the crises of our time, offering resilience, and renewed possibilities for the future.
