From the organizer:
Combining traditional and contemporary music, the ‘Song Song’ concert takes the audience on a voyage across time and space, exploring many aspects of the Vietnamese spirit and soul that transcend geographical boundaries and historical periods. All of the parallel universes are in resonance with one another: from the lullaby and Chèo of the Northern region to the “Hanh Van” melody of Hue’s royal court performance, and then to the Southern’s Cai Luong song. The nostalgic and vibrant tones of familiar old harmony gracefully curve with the intense intervals and powerful dissonance in the innovative pieces of the late musician Nguyen Thien Dao (*), eventually climaxing with experimental improvisations between traditional instruments and electronic music. ‘Song song’ at Manzi is therefore an event that should not be missed by music lovers.
