Gallery Medium

From the organizer:
VietnamColor|Màu Việt Nam, in collaboration with Gallery Medium, proudly presents Thẩm / Thấu, Thưởng – an exhibition featuring almost 50 works by 3 artists: Nguyễn Quốc Huy, Trần Nam Tước and HuongColor, just in time before the upcoming Tết Ất Tỵ in Ho Chi Minh City.
From ceramics and banana paper to acrylic, oil on canvas, and other diverse creative techniques, Thẩm / Thấu, Thưởng allows space for the intersection between contemporary art and heritage. The exhibition portrays the Tet holiday in various dimensions – warm and sacred through the sounds, images and colours of the Vietnamese people. The audience will immerse themselves in the essence of Vietnamese Tết through a variety of materials and tones, evoking meaningful reflections and beautiful memories of this traditional celebration.
To provide the audience a deeper understanding of the art-making process, a series of art talks and workshops will be held for artists, guests and art enthusiasts to hold dialogues, connect with one another, and open up fresh perspectives on folk arts.
On the opening night, VietnamColor and Gallery Medium will co-organize an auction for the silk painting ‘Chạng vạng #5’ (Heure Bleue #5) by artist Huong Color. The work reflects the interaction between human and nature, the majestic beings in the deep sea alongside the fragile existence of humanity. All proceeds will be donated to the Sống Foundation to support activities promoting education for children in areas affected by natural disasters and climate change, through the Tay cộng Tay – Handson Scholarship Fund under the River Oi program. The auction runs until 23rd January 2025.
