Ten years after his first solo exhibition in Vietnam, Franco-Vietnamese artist Suby One returns with NOW | Hiện tại, marking a new turn in his three-decade artistic practice.
Rooted in the energy of graffiti — speed, gesture, and freedom — Suby One’s painterly language now turns inward. Amid dense layers of color, marks, and movement emerges a recurring white rectangle he calls NOW: a moment of awareness and absolute presence.
NOW | Hiện tại places us between the restless noise of a mind in constant motion and the rare stillness of being fully present.
About artist
Born in Paris in 1979, Suby One is a Franco-Vietnamese artist whose three-decade practice is rooted in graffiti and street culture.
After returning to Vietnam in 2013, he became an active force in the country’s urban art scene, initiating projects that brought together communities around graffiti culture. Alongside his work in public space, Suby One gradually brought the language of graffiti — its speed, gesture and freedom — onto canvas, turning an outward-facing practice increasingly inward.
Ten years after his solo exhibition Time at the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Museum, Suby One returns with NOW | Hiện tại, opening a new chapter in his artistic journey.
