The Exhibition | Living Festival explores what an exhibition can become when it is not fixed, finished or simply something to look at. Presented as Track 01, part of the Vietnam Festival of Creativity and Design’s Living Festival, it brings together works by national and international artists, photographers and designers, creating a space for creative exchange across cultures, disciplines and perspectives.
Rather than presenting completed works as fixed outcomes, the exhibition creates a space where processes can unfold. Works may be made, altered, activated, performed, experienced or reinterpreted throughout the festival, inviting audiences to become participants in the exhibition’s development. In this way, the exhibition is constantly changing, shaped by the people who enter it, the ideas they contribute and the encounters that take place.
The submitted works were curated through a peer review process, establishing a rigorous and plural basis for determining what enters the exhibition. The selected works are organised across four interconnected sub-tracks: Living Archives, Living Signals, Living Territories, and Living Communities. These operate as conceptual points of connection rather than fixed classifications, enabling diverse practices. Bringing together 29 works from 79 creative practitioners across art, design, photography, craft, film, digital media and performance, the Living Exhibition reflects the diversity and energy of contemporary creative practice in Vietnam and beyond.
The exhibition is also an invitation to question what a festival can be. Can an exhibition become a space for dialogue, exchange and collective making rather than simply display?
Vietnam Festival of Creativity & Design 2026 is organised by RMIT University Vietnam in collaboration with a diverse array of individuals, groups, organisations, enterprises in the creative industries.
