Being in a foreign country is to exist outside of one’s culture. This can also be true in one’s home country for many reasons. This is especially true for artists. It is often said that artists are outsiders, even of their own culture. After spending a considerable amount of time in Hanoi, artist Kathy Koller still feels very much on the outside of the Vietnamese culture. In an attempt to participate and understand Vietnam more, she will be a tea lady, like and unlike any other before, serving tea to the people.
