Sculpture Exhibition “The House”

This exhibition is the result of 6 Vietnamese sculptors hard works: Le Thi Hien, Mai Thu Van, Le Lang Luong, Khong Do Tuyen, Tran Trong Tri, Nguyen Ngoc Lam and 3 foreign sculptors: Paty Sonville, Talbaui Fatima from Belgium, and American artist Bart Ushida. This three-month cooperation is in the residencies program in Vietnam with the support of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association and Wallonie-Bruxelles International.

Foreign artists have to learn traditional techniques of lacquer and bamboo, then combine these materials and use them to create contemporary sculpture artworks on their own way. From different materials and techniques, the purpose of this project is to create sculpture artworks, each artist expresses in their own language, but with the same subject “the house” and in the form of a cube. The project is a new experience, creative and research time for foreign and Vietnamese artists.

This meeting is the opportunity to develop sculpture’s creation way with international exchange and real partnership between artists and art associations.
