We are happy to welcome a new writer to Hanoi Grapevine.
Ilza Burchett visited Riverscapes IN FLUX.

After viewing the thought-provoking exhibition Riverscapes IN FLUX, one is reminded of a wisdom attributed to Voltaire: “It is said that the present is pregnant with the future”.

The seventeen multimedia installations by artists from Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, Indonesia and the Philippines — each in their own way  —  are telling us stories about their homeland and its rivers as they witness and experience them today:

Stories which are records of the shift of masses of natural matter, waters, dirt, forests, debris, living and dead humanity — the floating objects of a sacrifice in the creation of a new reality.
