20 and 21 Sep 2012
Meeting Room No. 6, Center of Woman and Development
UPDATE: The event opens to public from 10am, 20 Sep, and closes at 4pm, 21 Sep.
From British Council:
You are invited to the “Cactus blooming” program. This exhibition is one of the initial steps in the “Cactus blooming” program by Action to the Community Development Center (ACDC), which aims at raising funds to support the lives of single mothers with disabilities and their children, to have a better life and be more confident and inclusive. The program was created to cope with their difficulties, but it also gives them hope and joy. This is the kick-off for a series of events after the program. We will raise funds through donors’ contributions. The collected amount will, with full transparency, be delivered to them.
During the opening, there will be a chance for donors, photographers and participants of the program to share and exchange their thoughts and experiences during this time. The program will also receive contribution from Singer Thai Thuy Linh.
Especially the photo collection of single mothers having difficulties raising their children in Ha Noi will be shown. This is result of on-site time of photographers working with single mothers with disabilities. It is also recognizing the photographers’ effort and the spirit and contribution of the leaders of the DPO’s and volunteers of ACDC. Each photo is a story of a life or a fate. This collection is a door to the lives of single mothers with disabilities raising their children answers questions such as “Who are these single mothers with disabilities? What kind of work do they do? How do they live? How do they feel? How can we help?”
